In this bundle, we are going to study the latest research in relation to improving inactivity in mid to later life. We will explore the motivators and barriers which contribute to the statistics and discuss opportunities, considerations and strategies to overcome certain barriers and promote inclusivity.
The training aims to:
- Explore the latest reports in relation to improving the activity levels of those 55+
- Identify motivations and barriers to exercise
- Discuss opportunities and strategies to overcome certain barriers and promote inclusivity
- Explore considerations for different stages of life and how to embed exercise for improved levels of activity

Who is this training for?
This training is suitable for fitness professionals who work with the mid to later life demographic whether that’s in group classes, personal training or within exercise referral schemes.
Pre-requisites
All fitness professionals can access this training. It is recommended that you hold a L3 Older Adult or L3 Exercise Referral qualification if you find yourself promoting solely to this demographic; however, all fitness professionals should be educated on how to make exercise more inclusive.
What is involved in this training?
You are required to watch each of the video presentations and take notes as required. There is some recommended reading suggested as part of the CPD training. You will then answer a short multiple choice knowledge check to evaluate the learning process and check understanding.
Length of the Training
This training will take approximately 1-2 hours to complete.
Assessment
There are no formal assessments for this training. However, you will be asked to complete a short multiple choice knowledge check to evaluate the learning process.
